Amelinde - LEAD SINGER

Amelinde didn't realise that she wanted to be a performer until her late teens, even though family and friends say they saw it coming from toddler age. And they were absolutely right. As well as having an impressive voice, Amelinde has the talent that every great lead singer needs, plus she really knows how to engage a crowd and get the party going. Having learned from some of the best people in the music industry, both in the UK and Spain - John Coletta, Rob Davis, DJ Edu - she also collaborates with several well known bands on the Coast as well as performing as a solo artist.

Sham Rock was born in 2007 from Amelinde's passion for rock/pop. You'll love the way she interprets the tunes of artists like Amy Winehouse, The Killers, Queen, Kings of Leon, U2, Otis Redding, The Kinks, Scissor Sisters... sitting down is not an option, you'll just have to get up and dance!

Jose - LEAD GUITAR

Hear the first, spine chillingly beautiful electric guitar notes of Sweet Child of Mine ring out... and the crowd goes wild. It is the International Fair in Fuengirola and the band are playing in the Irish tent. This is Jose at his best, playing a rock guitar solo composed by one of his musical heroes.

Jose began playing professionally with local groups in the 90's and back then, it was all about riding the grunge wave. As lead guitar/shared vocals, Jose joined covers bands interpreting music from The Police, The Doors, Pearl Jam and U2, showing off his versatile skills on the strings and taking part in projects like Bally's Party and Bootsies. In 2000, playing football with friends, he happened to meet a group of British lads; Jose reminisces that they weren't too skilled with a football, but they did play in a very successful group called Monkey Tennis. He joined them in 2000 and stayed with them for about five years as lead guitarist. He then met Amelinde at a jam session and they connected immediately. Sham Rock has now become Jose's principle project - although you can at times find him playing for groups like Nightrain, a Guns N' Roses tribute, and the legendary ska and reggae band Looney Toonz.

Pablo - BASS GUITAR

Pablo provides the smooth, funky bass lines for the group, grooving along whilst managing to look as cool as a cucumber.

Originally from Buenos Aires, Pablo taught himself to play at 13 years of age. Since then, he has played professionally. When still living in Argentina as a teen, he formed his own punk rock band Inertes. In 1998 he joined Los Guapos, a pop rock group, which became really popular in Argentina and they toured nationally for some time. When he turned 23, Pablo joined a third group called The Keruza, who recorded  three official albums and two bootlegs, played on the radio and television in Argentina and finally, toured Mexico and the USA for five months. In 2003, the group had become well known in Spain and in 2003 Pablo travelled here for the first time on tour with the band. The tour went so well that the band returned during a further two consecutive years, and by 2008 Pablo had fallen in love with Spain... He decided to move here and fulfil his dream of playing with a rock band.

Gago - DRUMS

Gago, as well as being the drummer of the group, is the man who always thinks out of the box. True to his creative nature and ability to improvise anything on the spot, when he was 14 years old he first created a drum kit out of a couple of sticks, a tin can and some empty detergent containers. He then set off on his mission to make music and save the world.

Gago later formed a band of two with a friend, and within the four years they were together, they progressed to a real, second hand drum kit, a Spanish guitar, and later, a borrowed electric guitar.
He next created a covers band called the Per Versions and began to play on the professional entertainment circuit - a sign of things to come for the next thirty years, when he moved from mainland Spain to the Canary Islands and continued to play with one group and then another, venturing out to playing percussion in nightclubs as an accompaniment to electronic music  - a long way from the home-made drum kit, but still full of passion for making music, his first and foremost love.
